Kaleida, a joint venture of Apple and IBM that worked on such tools as ScriptX, is no longer in existence. The information below was copied from their WWW site earlier since it has historical interest for the academic community. Links, FTP, and email mentioned do not work.
Developers with access to the World Wide Web (WWW) or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) services, via the Internet, can now easily obtain information about Kaleida and ScriptX. Kaleida publications currently available include: a white paper on the key benefits of the Kaleida platform; a ScriptX product overview; newsletters; and information about the ScriptX Software Development Kit, ScriptX Training Seminars, and Worldwide Developer Program. In addition, Kaleida obtained permission to make available the article, "What's Up at Kaleida" from Dr. Dobb's Developer Update, as well as the RenderMorphics press release announcing their Reality Lab (tm) 3-D rendering library which will be used in future versions of ScriptX. Additional publications will be available in the future. World Wide Web users can browse through this information by clicking here. Of particular interest too are Questions and Answers. Kaleida's FTP server contains many of these items in text files and Postscript (tm) files for printing. FTP users can log onto "ftp.kaleida.com" with the user-id "anonymous" and open the directory "/pub/scriptx/general-info". Developers interested in more information about Kaleida, ScriptX, or Kaleida's developer programs can send e-mail to the Internet address "info@kaleida. com". Feedback about Kaleida's World Wide Web and FTP servers is also welcome at this address.
