Group Activity on
Enhancing a Specific Course
of the
Participant's Choice
Facilitator: Ed Fox
Purpose:
To start the process of FDI-stimulated improvement of education in CS.
Goals:
- To apply what has been learned in FDI to educational activities in CS.
- To form pairs of faculty who will aid each other in this process.
- To begin discussion in pairs and in the FDI group, of education
improvement in CS.
- To identify efforts to discuss in the Continuous Quality Improvement
sessions.
- To identify improvements that can be shared with the rest of the CS faculty.
- To identify improvements that may lead to university or sponsor-funded
projects.
Schedule:
- 10:30 - pair up, determine who will go first
- 10:40 - first course improvement plan
- 11:00 - second course improvement plan
- 11:20 - plenary session to discuss course improvement plans

- use of computer-mediated collaboration
- use of mathematical or statistical tools
