13.5.1 Netscape Extensions to HTML 2.0

Use these tags with caution, they may not be visible by browsers other than Netscape, or older versions of Netscape. Even if they are visible, they may not be rendered as expected.

ADDITIONS TO EXISTING TAGS (Netscape, 2.0)


Additions to the ISINDEX element
    PROMPT 

Additions to the  HR element 
    <HR SIZE=number>
    <HR WIDTH=number|percent>
    <HR ALIGN=left|right|center>
    <HR NOSHADE>

Additions to the <UL> element

    TYPE=disc, 
    TYPE=circle  
    TYPE=square 

Additions to the <OL> element

    capital letters (TYPE=A)
    small letters (TYPE=a)
    large roman numerals (TYPE=I)
    small roman numerals (TYPE=i)
    default numbers (TYPE=1)

    START
 
Additions to the <LI> element

    VALUE to change the count, for that list item and all subsequent.

Additions to the IMAGE element

    <IMG ALIGN=left>
    <IMG ALIGN=right>
    <IMG ALIGN=top>
    <IMG ALIGN=texttop>
    <IMG ALIGN=middle>
    <IMG ALIGN=absmiddle>
    <IMG ALIGN=baseline>

Additions to the BR element
     
    CLEAR=left will break the line, and move vertically down until there is a clear left margin 
    CLEAR=right does the same for the right margin
    CLEAR=all moves down until both margins are clear of images

COMPLETELY NEW ELEMENTS

    NO BReak - all text between the start and end of the NOBR
    elements cannot have line breaks inserted between them.

    Word BReak to give the Netscape Navigator help by telling it where a 
    word is allowed to be broken

BEHAVIORAL CHANGES

Font attributes are cumulative. Text inside something like
<i><tt><FONT SIZE=6><b>Text 
here</b></FONT></tt></i> 
will be italic fixed bold text of size 6.
