Thanks and Good luck!!!!!
- 08/11 - Grades for all the homeworks are now posted! Please check them! You can pick your homework back up in my office (from 1 to 2 pm). Or I will return them

- 08/09 - ATTENTION: I will be doing extra work to allow you
to submit your final projects (UFDA and EXTRA) on Friday, the 13th, 05:30 pm!! (Again, 05:30 pm -
NOT AT MIDNIGHT!!). The final date is still Wednesday! And after Friday, 05:30 pm YOU WILL GET
A ZERO! Since it is the last day of the semester.
- 08/03 - ATTENTION: There will be a second chance on project III, with a penalty of 20%.
The TA still has to fix the grader. Good Luck!!!
-
08/01 - ATTENTION: I have just updated (changed) Project
UFDA! If you had gotten the specifications before, you are going to get the new specifications
with the changes (which include the output files)!! I am sorry for the inconvinience.
-

PAY ATTENTION: YOU MUST DO PROJECT UFDA! TO QUALIFY FOR PROJECT EXTRA!!
YOU JUST CANNOT SUBSTITUTE ONE FOR THE OTHER?! Good Luck!!
-

Click here to find out how you

-
07/26 - Project
III is now posted. Let's try to get an early start! Good Luck!!
- 07/25 - Hey! How is your Sunday going? The lab will be open from 4 to 9. I will come by around
5ish/6ish to help....
-
07/24 - TEST II - Date for the Second
Test is THURSDAY, JULY 29th. it will be SIMILAR to the questions from the homeworks (just
like the first test)!! It will cover chapters 01 to 09. GOOD LUCK!!!
- Please, remember what I told in class: The input files I posted in the web as examples SHOULD
NOT be used in your tests..you have to create your own, using the C++ editor (NOT WORD OR WORDPAD..). Also, DO NOT
CUT AND PASTE from the web (because you may bring junk..). Thanks!
- ATTENTION! ATTENTION!! MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT INPUT FILE NAME!
IT SHOULD BE "music.data"!!! IF YOU MISTYPE IT (AND YOUR WHILE CONDITION DOESN'T TEST FOR THE
END OF THE FILE) YOUR PROGRAM MAY RUN AN INFINITE LOOP AND IMPACT THE GRADER....
-
07/21 - Homework VI
is now posted!
-
07/21 - I made a mistake!!
Please, change your code... When you print out the number of each different type of songs, they are NOT
in alphabetical order (like I said in the specs) but the order is: Brazilian, Rock, Pop, Jazz and
Soul!!! Thanks!!
-
07/21 - I just tested the Grader for Project II. It is working. IMPORTANT: 80% OF THE GRADE WILL
BE FOR THE CODE ITSELF, AND 20% OF THE GRADE WILL BE FOR COMMENTS, READABILITY, HCI, ETC. (5% for
the Identifiers, 5% for the Comments, 5% for the Header and 5% for the Honor Code) Make sure
you read the Elements of Programming Style (find the link on the Syllabus)!!
-
07/21 - The answers for the Homework
are now posted!
-
07/20 - For Homework IIb, you don't have to compile and submit the changes to the grader.
You can just type out either the algorithm or the code. Make sure you make comments on
the changes you make.
Also, very important: DON'T COMPARE VARIABLES OF THE TYPE FLOAT FOR EQUALITY. You never know
what exact values are stored...therefore, they are not always equal (even though you may
think they are...).
-
07/19 - The Grades I have so far
are now posted. Please check them and talk to me if there is any problem!
-

-
07/16 - The answers for the Homeworks
are now posted!
-
07/15 - The grader is working!! But I made some mistakes. So,
please, correct your source code to reflect the following:
Instead of CS1044 - Project I the title should be: CS 1044 - Project #1
Instead of nickels you should (miss)spell it to be nickles
- 07/14 - The TA will be working on the Grader, to make sure everything works fine. As of now (2pm)
she still has some problems.
I have updated the link
to the new grader so that it points to the new address I gave in class.
-

-
07/09 - PLEASE, WHEN YOU GO TO THE LAB, ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS SET
UP AN ACCOUNT..FILL IN THE FORM. IT MAY TAKE ONE DAY OR TWO
BEFORE YOU CAN ACCTUALLY USE A COMPUTER THERE.
-
07/09 - Some of those who already turned in the homework forgot to do exercise
number 2. Again, there are three parts: 1 - Tutorial (you don't have to
hand in anything, just read them); 2 - Problem (you have to turn in an
algorithm, just like the telephone call example); 3 - Exercises (there
are 50 questions..)
-
07/06 - If you DID NOT sign the attendance sheet, you were dropped from
this class. If you gave me a Force/Add slip, you were added.
Some of you were present but you were not enrolled and didn't give me any
force/add slip.. IN ANY CASE, EVERYBODY SHOULD CHECK STATUS...we don't
want any surprises.
