Eudora allows you to send and receive email.
In addition to sending and receiving plain text email messages,
Eudora allows you to send any file as email, using MIME.
POP, like many other things associated with Internet communication, is a protocol. POP stands for Post Office Protocol. POP servers store mail for many users. When the POP client (Eudora) checks the server for mail, you must enter a password to verify you are who you say you are. Then the server sends the mail to your computer. One really good quality of POP mail is you can check your mail from anywhere. For instance, you could be in California and check your VT mail (as long as you have an Internet connection).
