Net Video Conferencing

Introduction

Synchronous network collaboration requires real-time data sharing. This allows users to see changes that each other make on a shared document. This sharing can run the spectrum from full screen mirroring to sharing a single document in a single window.

Microsoft NetMeeting

The video conferencing feature built into Microsoft NetMeeting allows users to dynamically view the image of the connected user. To start a video session, connect to another user using NetMeeting  in the same manner as placing a network phone call. When the connection is established select the Video > Send option from the Tools menu. This will automatically transmit your desktop camera's output in the main NetMeeting window as shown at right. 

Suggested Optional Activities

• Establish a conference connection with someone who has a desktop video camera to view their transmitted image.
