Electronic resources -- via telnet

You can access INSPEC, and other databases for engineering and technology, via telnet.

You can even initiate an inter-library loan via telnet (and pick up the material a week or more later in the first floor of Newman library).

Instructions:

Type "telnet nebula.lib.vt.edu 23"
Login with userid "first" and password "search".
Choose topic area "6" on first screen (@p[Engineering and technology])
Choose INSPEC database on second screen

Note: When you display the record for an article, there is an "Order" command to initiate an interlibrary loan. You do not get charged -- the Newman library pays the cost. (So do not use your credit card number!)
