There are four parts to this Unit. Three of those involve reading. When doing that, be sure to fill in definitions for the Important Terms listed later in this handout. With the reading as background - especially the Salton discussion of query construction, narrowing, broadening - the following computer exercise will re-inforce many of the concepts.
