Please find publications about CD-ROM using MARIAN. If you can use the NeXTstep or curses versions you can get larger returned sets than is supported by the Mosaic interface. These will be demonstrated on 10/18 in the lab.

The MARIAN system has been under development in the Computing Center as an alternative to VTLS. The current interface works for NeXT computers, for systems that emulate a VT100 with curses, for gopher+ clients, and for Mosaic clients. You can link directly to MARIAN and it usually works, but try again later if there is no response.

MARIAN is not complete, and is being extended and improved. Please send a message indicating your experience with MARIAN, your view of how well the weighting scheme works with short library catalog records, and any special problems you have had (with cc to france@opac2.cc.vt.edu).
