Abstract:
Another model of information is that it is structured according to
attribute-grammars. We assume that a labelled bracketing scheme, with
attributes attached to the brackets, is sufficient to deal with documents,
and provides the basis for standards for our electronic libraries. In
particular, we study SGML, along with tools for creating, displaying,
editing, analyzing, and translating documents to/from it.
This Unit has two articles and several laboratory exercises. There are
two lectures, a class discussion, and a laboratory session.
