This article is short and should be casually read. Its main utility is to introduce the goals of the Integrated Chameleon Architecture (ICA), the family of tools mentioned, that have just been released in 1992 after many years of design and development. ICA is different from what is described - see the technical report/ reference manual for the current version and for details. Fundamentally, however, ICA implements the model discussed, and illustrated by the figures. Thus, you should read the article, understand the importance and uniqueness of ICA, but not worry about the specifics given in the text of pages 411-2.
