Another model of information is that it is structured as hypertext, or, if multiple media types are involved, as hypermedia (see Unit MM). This perspective has implications regarding creation and use of information, interface and information system design, and the relative roles of authors and readers. We explore these issues: from an historical perspective, from the viewpoint of typical hypertext systems and hyperbases, and from an orientation of system software and data interchange.
