Computer Exercises

There are three alternative approaches to the exercises. Pick the one that you find most interesting or convenient.

First, you can contact Robert Akscyn (editor of HTC, the ACM Hypertext Compendium), and work with him to convert some hypertext-related CACM article to KMS. He can be reached as rma@ks.com. You should in advance select an article that he considers relevant to hypertext that you wish to work with (in your group). You will need to scan the article, learn a bit about KMS, and convert the article to be somewhat like those in the HTC.

Second, you can carry out the three small exercises that follow.

Third and finally, for those having trouble with any of the above, say because of limited access to KMS, you may instead access http://ei.cs.vt.edu/courses.html and then work your way into the Multimedia, Hypertext and Information Access Course (CS4624) and do a short essay about the importance of either the Dexter or Amsterdam models.
