BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EdMOO

EdMOO is an educational MOO being developed at Monash University, Australia.

Features of EdMOO:

  • Offers integrated Web and telnet sessions using Java
  • Features resizeable and moveable frames
  • Offers Drover for clients without java capability
  • Features a clickable map

The vertical frame on the left (with the icons) is resizeable, whereas the horizontal telnet frame is only moveable.

Drover is an advanced telnet program specifically designed to work with EdMOO. It is especially helpful to those who do not have Java enabled browsers, because it helps them take advantage of the multimedia features of EdMOO even without the Java capability. However, Drover is currently only available for the Windows platform, and not for Macs or UNIX. No correspondence was established between us and the developers of EdMOO to find out if a UNIX or Mac version of Drover is ready or is being considered at all.

More information about EdMOO and Drover can be found on the EdMOO website. The intention here is to just introduce the user to EdMOO, and any detailed description of EdMOO will only be redundant to their already existing EdMOO web pages.
