We hope that the evaluation of the site 'Professionalism in Computing' may help to improve it but also educate people on some issues that come up in the use and design of Web Sites as an educational tool.
This project was an opportunity for us to learn how to deal with people having different expectations and ways of thinking. Putting people of different backgrounds with points of views offered us a wide range of starting points for the analysis of the site but it also represented a major difficutly, in the sense it was difficult to find a structure in which all our different ideas could be fused into a unique consistent new one.
Further research needs to be carried to explore the possibilities of generalization and artifact re-usability beyond Professionalism in Computing:
- Study on collaborative teaching using the Internet.
- Creation of tools (like the online debate) to increase the participation of the students.
- Relevance and future projections as to the use of the internet to improve learning.
- Methods to reduce the 'human factor' in a student's learning experience.
- Methods to make learning 'knowledge oriented'.
