Design Case Project
CS5724 Fall 1997
Jason Bryant, Craig Ganoe, and Rick Neil
Description
This project presents a design case analysis of the Learning
in Networked Communities (LiNC) project's virtual school software.
We perform a scenario-based analysis using the
design prototypes
(screen 1 and
screen 2)
and software developed by the LiNC team
(plus some of our own ideas).
Methodology
We develop scenarios of use for the virtual school software. A claims
analysis is performed using applicable HCI theories from CS5724.
Scenarios, claims, and
theories are kept on separate web
pages and are hypertext linked. A
constructive critique
of the software is presented based upon this analysis.

Goals
Along with the analysis of the software, it is our goal to show
reuse of claims by taking advantage of the ability to hypertext link to
them from different scenarios.
