Nostalgia Project Design Case Study
| Introduction
Conclusion |
Evaluation Conclusions Based on our analysis, we have found some inconsistencies and bugs in the system that should be changed in a later implementation. The organization of the page does not seem user-friendly. The page contains long paragraphs and users have to read though the entire page to get an understanding of the theme of the system and its tools. It would be more user-friendly if we could organize the page with a better structure. In doing so, users would be encouraged to use the system and the system itself would be more attractive and simpler. The newest features help to touch the senior citizens' feelings (especially the photo gallery) and to make the system more attractive, but the limited source of photographs make the seniors' interest fade quickly. More new features and tools could be added to keep the system interesting. A main concern of the designer is to keep this system simple and easy to use. It is true that many of its users have limited skills and experience with using computers. Activity theory states, though, that more features will enhance user participation. Nostalgia is a highly distributed management system which is mostly maintained by users, with the functions meant to attain to a particular aspect of that community (village, city, etc.) life. User participation is crucial for this system. Nostalgia should be more interesting and we should support more features to encourage users to contribute new content to the system.
