CSCW News CSCW Announcements:
Welcome to CS 5734, a graduate class studying human-computer interaction (HCI) issues in the design and evaluation of computer-supported cooperative work. I will use this page as the general class announcement archive: announcements may be made in class or over the listserv, but I will try to replicate them here for reference purposes. I may also occasionally provide information only through this mechanism, so check it regularly.

23 February: Demo of LiveBoard in McBryde 104c, Weds 2/25 at 2:15pm.

5 February: Reminder: we will not have a class meeting on Monday Feb 9. Dr. Rosson will be out of town all week, but PhD candidate Bo Begole will be presenting a guest lecture on architectures for synchronous communication (plus a demo of the JAMM system) on Wednesday Feb 11. The next set of student presentations will be the following week, i.e., on Feb 18.

24 January: Xin Yu has put together a table showing people's time constraints...you may find this useful when it comes time to schedule the outside demos.

22 January: I have posted the assignments of optional readings presentations and demo groups, these have been integrated into the readings and demos pages.

Also, remember that you are to be forming into project groups. Please let me know when you have a team together; I will place a group number after each name in the class list as groups form, so that you will know who is still 'available'.

13 January: Remember the three things you are to email me by the end of this first week:

  1. an ordered list of three choices from the optional readings (from 3 different weeks);
  2. an ordered list of three systems you prefer to be involved in demoing; and
  3. your personal description created by filling in this template

12 January: I have submitted a request for a class LISTSERV, it should be available in 3-5 days.
