• Masters students should prepare a suitable research proposal that can serve as the roadmap for their thesis research.
• Ph.D. students should prepare an appropriate proposal for their Preliminary examination.
• Students who previously developed a proposal should present part of that, but going into new detail, along with explaining the results of their investigations.
• Students should be able to read and understand research contributions in their area.
• Students should be able to moderate a presentation by another.
• Students should be able to critique a proposal of another.
