CS6604 Proposals

  1. ONLINE INFORMATION
    Please see the review forms and other information under Readings.

  2. SEMINAR PROPOSAL
    Your proposal should be no more than a TOTAL of 30 double-spaced pages in 12-point type. Please follow the NSF Grant Proposal Guide specifications where relevant. Allocation of pages to the major sections of your proposal is your decision as long as you produce a complete proposal. The main body of the proposal should include only Of special importance is section C, discussed in detail.

    In your case, results from prior support should summarize the related publications and other work you have done prior to this particular study, and can be omitted if you are starting anew. You are encouraged to organize section C into subsections:

       Introduction
               Problem Statement
               Research Hypothesis
               Purpose, Goals, Objectives
       Literature Review
       Preliminary Results and Findings
       Approach/Methodology
               Design, Development, Implementation, Experimentation, ...
               Timeline
       Expected Results and Importance of Project
    
  3. SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
    Your supplemental material is completely optional and can be any length or format. One copy of this material should be given ONLY to me. This supplement material may include items such as:

  4. PROPOSAL REVIEWS
    Each student is required to review and critique two proposals. Any supplemental material will NOT be considered in your reviews. A 2-4 page typewritten evaluation is required for each of the two proposals you review. You may use either of the following review formats: In addition, your reviews must include your own suggestions for improving the proposed research.

  5. COMPLETION DEADLINES
    The following deadlines were announced at the beginning of the semester. Due to the constraints and obligations required of all of us at the end of the semester, these deadlines cannot be changed.
