CU-SeeMe - instruction page
Before launching CU-SeeMe, you need to change your
display option for your monitor to have 256 colors or less.
You can do this by launching CU-SeeMe while pressing
the Apple option key, which
will bring up a dialog box that will allow you
to change your display option. In particular:
- Launch CU-SeeMe while pressing
the Apple option key
- Set the screen to 256 colors or less. (256 colors should work fine.)
- Once CU-SeeMe has started, you should see one window. If your Mac has
a camera connected, you can see yourself. Otherwise, you will
not see anything.
- Now, CU-SeeMe is ready to work.
If you don't have a camera connected, you can still receive
sound and video.
- You can connect to a reflector site by specifying a IP address
by selecting "connect..." from the "Conference" menu.
- A well-known reflector at Cornell University is
132.236.91.204
- Other
reflector sitescan also be used.
- NOTE - if there are too many people connected, you may be refused
to connect to a reflector.
Enjoy experimenting with CU-SeeMe.
