Dr. Ehrich has a Canon L2 camcorder that also can be used for videography.
In McB 110 there is a signup list for the digital video capture and editing system on the door to it, which is straight ahead as you enter the room. On the right, just before it, is boris, the Mac with scanner attached, for image capture, Virtus Walkthrough and other work. Above boris is a cabinet with photos to scan and a signup sheet to log who captures what; audio and video tapes to capture are in the table on the left as you enter the digital video system sub-room.
Other images and tapes to capture along with a signup sheet are in the New Media Center in the Library, saved for our class.
Class next Monday, 2/26, will be run differently than usual. The Tue. section will spend the first 38 minutes watching video tapes while the Thur. section goes to McB 110 for Information Access Lab demos. At 3:40 the two groups will switch places. Labs next week will be in the New Media Center.
Virtus Walkthrough is now running in the Derring 2069 lab on machines 3, 6, 11, 14.
The HTTP server is running on video, but on port 90. Thus, for example, the PDF file with a tutorial on multimedia information and systems is also available at http://video.cs.vt.edu:90/~fox/MMnotes.pdf
The CR unit will include work with RealAudio - look for an update to the exercises.
