the field of computer science?
What is the name of a CD-ROM database that covers companies and products
in the computing field?
What type of service does Dialog provide? What type of computer operations
do you expect they have to support this service?
Why do some database providers offer both online and CD-ROM access to their
information?
How does searching using ISI's Science Citation Index service differ from
regular keyword-based searching? What information is easier to find through
citation services? How does this relate to the concept of hypertext?
In providing access to standards on CD-ROM it is desirable to have one CD-ROM
with index information in a dedicated CD-ROM drive and to load in an appropriate
CD-ROM from a large set into a second CD-ROM drive. Explain: what representation
is used to store the standards, why so many CD-ROMs are needed, and why
two drives are recommended.
