From: cegray@mail.vt.edu (Caryl Gray) For 1996: ... I have arranged for demonstrations on the CD-ROM network, FirstSearch and Infotrac Online, Standards/Vendor disks and Dialog. We will divide the class into small groups and each group will spend about 15 minutes at each demonstration. For 1995: ... We would go to the 4th floor and have 4 or 5 demonstration stations. I would divide the class into smaller groups and they could visit the various stations for 10 to 15 minutes on a rotating basis. The demonstration stations would be CIP (Classroom Instruction Program for Dialog), ComputerSelect(CR-ROM), Compendex(Engineering Index) and INSPEC (Computer and Control Abstracts) on CD-ROM Network, FirstSearch(Database available through the Gopher) and finally the Worldwide Standards and Vendor Catalog (CD-ROM Database System). I would allow a few minutes for questions after the demonstrations if necessary, but the students may want to ask questions at each demonstration.
