Compression using the Photo-JPEG codec in Premiere

The photo-JPEG codec is used mainly for high quality compression of a sequence of stills or a slideshow. Compression using photo JPEG is relatively slow. Playback of images compressed with photo-JPEG is also relatively slow. If photo-JPEG is used, files should later be processed with a different codec to improve playback.

To use photo-JPEG, you follow similar procedures for when using any other codec.

  1. Open the Compression Settings Window
  2. Select photo-JPEG from the Compressor pulldown menu
  3. Select the desired image quality...I suggest starting with a setting of High to Most
  4. Select the desired number of frames per second...I suggest using 15 as an initial starting point
