Enter your PID in the first text box and the password in the second box. Then press the Enter ... Chat As: button. A window will appear on your screen with a white text box underneath. Enter text you wish to send in the white text box and press RETURN. All chat participants will see the text you typed in their chat window. The names of current chat participants appear in another window immediately to the right of the main chat window. To exit the chat room simply depress the 'back' button on your Web browser.

The CS1604 chat room is a Java based client/server application. No additional software is needed to access it other than a Net connection and a Web browser. The chat room password is posted to the course listserv at the beginning of the each term to restrict the chat to currently enrolled CS1604 students. Please do NOT share the password with non-CS1604 students. |

The chat server is not designed to verify student identification. CS1604 students may enter the chat anonymously, but are encouraged not to do so.
