Managing Mail Messages

Deleting Your Messages

Your messages may be stored in any mailbox indefinitely and will remain there until you explicitly delete or transfer them to another mailbox.

  1. From the Message Summary box, select or open the message to be deleted.
  2. Choose Delete from the Message menu.

Transferring Your Messages

With Eudora you can organize your messages by moving your messages from one mailbox to another. You will not have to see old messages in your In mailbox if you transfer messages to an appropriate mailbox.

You may want to group your messages by categories:

Here's how you can transfer a message from the In mailbox to a new mailbox.

  1. From the Mailbox menu choose In.
  2. Select the message from the Message Summaries box that you want to transfer.
  3. Choose New from the Transfer menu. A dialog box will appear asking you to name the new mailbox.
  4. Enter the name of the new mailbox. For example:
  5. Click OK. A new mailbox will be created. Your message will transfer into the mailbox named Hall.

Locating Messages

After you have stored messages in different mailboxes, you may want to locate a particular message.

  1. From the Mailbox menu, choose the desired mailbox. Its Summary window will appear.
  2. Click once to select the message. Double click to open the message.

More on Transferring Messages

You can transfer messages between existing mailboxes.

  1. Select the message from the In mailbox that you want to transfer.
  2. From the Transfer menu choose the mailbox that you want to receive the transferred message. Do not use New when transferring messages to an existing mailbox.

Printing Your Messages

You can print your message(s) on an attached printer or a networked printer.

  1. From the message summaries, select the message to be printed.

  2. From the File menu, choose Print. A print dialog box will appear.  Click Print. Eudora prints headers and footers on each page, giving the window title, page number, and your return address.
