Browsing the World Wide Web

Web Browsing is the process of viewing hypermedia documents, commonly called webpages, created using the HTML design guidelines. In order to use the World Wide Web (WWW), you need a computer that is connected to the Internet and a Web browser, (or HTML client application).  Although Web browsers originally only allowed the viewing of Web pages with text and graphics, the latest generation of browsers serve also as e-mail clients, newsreaders, and have "plug-in" capability for adding mini-applications that increase the browser's functionalities.   They also support Java, a distributed programming language developed for cross-platform and cross-network applications.
