Description
- Defines the Internet services
- Write protocols for Electronic Mail (E-Mail), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Telnet, USENET News, Gopher, and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
- Knowledge of existing protocol
- Creativity to design/modify protocols
- Ability to test the protocols
- Experience with networking
- Many perform Internetwork Engineering
Education Requirement
- Education background in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science
- Some technical schools offer 1-2 year program to be certified in protocol writing.
Salary
- Range from $40K-$80K depending on experience and education.
