Notes:

“We do not describe the world we see; we see the world we can describe.”: Our interests drive what we do and colour our world-view. Computer scientists are interested in computer science; educators in education. We (as CSists) need educators perspective to understand what effective use of WWW is all about.

Lack of knowledge is not a lack of intelligence.: Different worlds have different backgrounds. We should be mindful of that when we design anything. Do not assume someone is stupid because they lack knowledge. Am I stupid if I don’t understand French?

Education should be the focus, not technology.: Educators are the end-users! We should cater to their interests, not ours.

An electronic worksheet is still a worksheet.: Effectiveness implies going beyond. We should improve on what the teacher has, not create electronic facsimiles.
